We know that nature recovery is absolutely essential for our wildlife, our environment and for our climate. But our experiences and connections with wild spaces can also have profound effects for us as individuals; enriching our lives, supporting our health, and opening up new opportunities in our communities.
Alongside our work monitoring vital environmental and biodiversity gains, we want to understand how nature recovery across the corridor is benefiting you. How is it making a difference in your lives, and in your communities?
The Weald to Waves team is working to build a more complete picture of the full range of ecosystem services the corridor will contribute to. This includes the vital ‘cultural’ services, such as our physical and mental health, social connectedness, opportunities for new skills or development opportunities, and a greater sense of inspiration and appreciation for our natural environment.
We want to hear your experiences.
Has your garden project encouraged you to spend more time outdoors, benefitting your physical or mental wellbeing?
Or has a move towards regenerative farming opened up new networks and opportunities, or changed your relationship with your land?
People, communities, and fostering opportunities for greater enjoyment and engagement with nature is a key part of Weald to Waves.
By helping us to understand the human benefits of corridor participation, we can tell a richer story on the interaction of social and environmental effects of nature recovery and maximise our impact.
